September 7, 2026 — If I Had Been Born Somewhere Else
I was sipping my coffee today when a strange thought crossed my mind. What if I had been born in another country? What if I had grown up in another city, in another family, surrounded by a different language?

Maybe my culture would have been different. The way I looked at people would have been different. My beliefs might have been different. Even the things I consider right today might have been completely different.

I might have grown up with a different food culture, learned different traditions, celebrated different holidays, and listened to completely different stories. Would I still be the same person?

Maybe I would have loved different things. I might have made friends with different people. Perhaps I would have chosen a different profession. Maybe I would have looked at life through a completely different window.

Then another question came to my mind. What if I had been born in another time? A hundred years ago? Five hundred years ago? Or perhaps a hundred years from now? How much of the person we become is really our own choice?

The country we are born in, our family, our culture, our beliefs, the language we speak, the society we grow up in, and the people we meet... Perhaps all of these quietly shape the way we think and the way we see life.

Maybe every person carries a small piece of the place they were born in. And if we had been born somewhere else, perhaps the person we call “ourselves” today would have been someone completely different.

Maybe life is built not only from the things we choose, but also from the things we never had the chance to choose.
