Dreams We Rarely Tell Anyone About
ArticleCorner Editor's Note:
One Sunday, Dr. Heart and Dr. Mind had finally agreed on an idea for their next piece of content.
But that Sunday, they decided not to talk about work.
Instead, they decided to talk about something much more personal.
Their dreams.
Not the things they were supposed to want.
Not the things people expected from them.
The things they truly wanted.
After their little conversation, they sent us a message and asked us to share it with ArticleCorner readers.
So here it is:
A Sunday Conversation
Dr. Heart was sitting comfortably with his coffee when he looked at.
❤️ Dr. Heart:
"Let's not talk about work today."
🧠 Dr. Mind:
"Agreed."
❤️ Dr. Heart:
"That was surprisingly easy."
🧠 Dr. Mind:
"My brain has been waiting for this moment all week."
❤️ Dr. Heart:
"Your brain is always working."
🧠 Dr. Mind:
"That's because it doesn't know how to take a day off."
❤️ Dr. Heart:
"Then let's give it something else to think about."
🧠 Dr. Mind:
"What?"
❤️ Dr. Heart:
"Our dreams."
Dr. Mind smiled.
🧠 Dr. Mind:
"Real dreams?"
❤️ Dr. Heart:
"The ones we don't usually tell people about."
🧠 Dr. Mind:
"Interesting."
❤️ Dr. Heart:
"Why are you smiling?"
🧠 Dr. Mind:
"Because mine is probably going to sound completely crazy."
❤️ Dr. Heart:
"I wasn't expecting anything normal from you anyway."
Dr. Mind's Dream:
Dr. Mind looked out the window.
For a moment, he seemed to forget that he was sitting in a room.
🧠 Dr. Mind:
"I want to leave Earth."
❤️ Dr. Heart:
"Leave Earth?"
🧠 Dr. Mind:
"Yes. Completely."
❤️ Dr. Heart:
"Where would you go?"
🧠 Dr. Mind:
"Somewhere nobody has ever been."
❤️ Dr. Heart:
"You're serious."
🧠 Dr. Mind:
"Very serious."
He leaned back and continued.
🧠 Dr. Mind:
"I want my own spacecraft. Not just a small spaceship. Something enormous. A flying laboratory with a huge library, observatories, gardens, and an artificial intelligence system that can understand every language humans have ever spoken."
❤️ Dr. Heart:
"A garden in space?"
🧠 Dr. Mind:
"Why not?"
❤️ Dr. Heart:
"Because plants need sunlight, water and..."
🧠 Dr. Mind:
"That's why it's a dream."
🧠 Dr. Mind:
"I want to travel beyond the places we've already explored. I want to see planets we've never seen. I want to look at a world from orbit and wonder what might be living there."
❤️ Dr. Heart:
"And if you found intelligent life?"
Dr. Mind's eyes lit up.
🧠 Dr. Mind:
"Then I would probably forget to come home."
❤️ Dr. Heart:
"I knew it."
🧠 Dr. Mind:
"I would want to talk to them. I would want to understand how they think. What they believe. What they dream about."
❤️ Dr. Heart:
"You would interview aliens."
🧠 Dr. Mind:
"Of course."
❤️ Dr. Heart:
"You're going to need a very large notebook."
🧠 Dr. Mind:
"I'll take the whole library."
He smiled.
🧠 Dr. Mind:
"Maybe one day I'd send a message back to Earth."
❤️ Dr. Heart:
"What would you say?"
🧠 Dr. Mind:
"I'd say, 'You have no idea how big the universe really is.'"
Dr. Heart's Dream:
🧠 Dr. Mind:
"Now it's your turn."
Dr. Heart smiled.
❤️ Dr. Heart:
"Mine is much simpler."
🧠 Dr. Mind:
"Simple dreams can be the most difficult ones."
❤️ Dr. Heart:
"Maybe."
He took a slow sip of his coffee.
❤️ Dr. Heart:
"I want a beautiful house by the sea."
🧠 Dr. Mind:
"I knew there would be a sea."
❤️ Dr. Heart:
"And I want big windows. When I wake up in the morning, I want to see the water."
🧠 Dr. Mind:
"What else?"
Dr. Heart smiled.
❤️ Dr. Heart:
"I want a big kitchen."
🧠 Dr. Mind:
"Of course."
❤️ Dr. Heart:
"And a long dining table."
🧠 Dr. Mind:
"Why?"
❤️ Dr. Heart:
"Because I don't want to eat alone."
There was a short silence.
❤️ Dr. Heart:
"I want my family around that table."
🧠 Dr. Mind:
"Your family?"
❤️ Dr. Heart:
"Yes. I want to have children."
Dr. Mind looked at him quietly.
❤️ Dr. Heart:
"I want to hear children running through the house. I want to wake up because someone is laughing in the next room."
He smiled.
❤️ Dr. Heart:
"I want to make breakfast for them. I want to teach them how to swim. I want to take them to the beach. I want to listen to their endless questions."
🧠 Dr. Mind:
"Even the difficult questions?"
❤️ Dr. Heart:
"Especially those."
🧠 Dr. Mind:
"And what would you tell them?"
❤️ Dr. Heart:
"I’d tell them to stay curious. To be kind. To keep dreaming, no matter how far their dreams may take them."
Dr. Heart looked toward the window.
❤️ Dr. Heart:
"I want a house that is sometimes noisy."
🧠 Dr. Mind:
"Sometimes noisy?"
❤️ Dr. Heart:
"Yes. Toys on the floor. Laughter in the garden. Someone calling my name from another room."
He smiled.
❤️ Dr. Heart:
"I don't want a perfect house. I want a house full of life."
Dr. Mind nodded slowly.
🧠 Dr. Mind:
"I think I understand."
❤️ Dr. Heart:
"There's more."
🧠 Dr. Mind:
"More?"
❤️ Dr. Heart:
"I want to travel with my family."
🧠 Dr. Mind:
"Where?"
❤️ Dr. Heart:
"Everywhere we can."
❤️ Dr. Heart:
"I want to show my children different countries, different cultures, different foods, different people."
❤️ Dr. Heart:
"I want them to understand that the world is much bigger than the place where they were born."
Dr. Mind smiled.
🧠 Dr. Mind:
"That sounds strangely familiar."
❤️ Dr. Heart:
"How?"
🧠 Dr. Mind:
"You're also looking for a bigger world."
❤️ Dr. Heart:
"Maybe you're right."
🧠 Dr. Mind:
"You want to discover it with your mind."
❤️ Dr. Heart:
"And I want to experience it with my heart."
They looked at each other and smiled.
Two Different Dreams:
For a while, neither of them spoke.
One wanted to travel beyond the stars.
The other wanted to build a home filled with love, children, laughter and memories.
One wanted to discover unknown worlds.
The other wanted to create a little world of his own.
Finally, Dr. Heart raised his coffee.
❤️ Dr. Heart:
"To our dreams."
Dr. Mind raised his cup.
🧠 Dr. Mind:
"Even the impossible ones."
❤️ Dr. Heart:
"Especially those."
And perhaps that was the real beauty of their Sunday conversation.
The mind dreams of places it has never reached.
The heart dreams of moments it longs to live.
And sometimes, we need both. ❤️🧠
