Dr. Mind and Dr. Heart: A Walk in the Summer Rain
An ArticleCorner Manager's Note:
Yesterday evening, while I was walking around the city, I happened to run into Dr. Mind and Dr. Heart. We talked for a while, and they told me about a little rain adventure they had experienced.
They even shared their conversation with me and asked me to publish it on ArticleCorner. Apparently, they had another small difference of opinion. It all started when Dr. Mind checked the weather forecast before leaving home. The forecast showed a good chance of summer rain in the evening.
As usual, Dr. Mind had prepared himself. He took an umbrella with him.
Dr. Heart, on the other hand, saw that the weather was nice and decided there was no need for such preparation. While they were walking through the city that evening, it suddenly started to rain. Dr. Mind was not surprised at all. He calmly opened his umbrella.
Dr. Heart, meanwhile, simply stood in the rain. And she didn't seem bothered by it. Quite the opposite. She looked genuinely happy.
Dr. Mind looked at her and asked: “Why didn't you bring an umbrella?”
Dr. Heart smiled. “Because apparently, you checked the weather for both of us.”
Dr. Mind shook his head. “It was obvious that it was going to rain.”
Dr. Heart spun around under the rain and replied: “So what? Maybe the rain just wanted to see us.”
Then she looked at Dr. Mind and suddenly started singing: “Rain is falling, let me be, I’m not made of sugar, can’t you see? You’ve got your umbrella, safe and dry, Checking the forecast while I enjoy the sky! Don’t worry, Doctor Mind, I won’t melt away, I’m just having fun on a rainy day!”
Dr. Mind smiled. “That song has no scientific basis.”
Dr. Heart immediately replied: “But the rhythm is good.” Dr. Mind looked at her as the rain continued to fall. “The rhythm may be good, but you're getting completely soaked.”
Dr. Heart laughed. “That's your problem, Dr. Mind. I'm enjoying the rain, while you're probably calculating how long my clothes will take to dry.”
Dr. Mind smiled. “I'm not calculating it.”
Dr. Heart raised an eyebrow. “You're not?”
Dr. Mind paused for a moment. “Not yet.”
Dr. Heart burst out laughing. “See? That's exactly what I mean!” She stepped back into the rain, happily letting the raindrops fall on her.
Dr. Mind shook his head and smiled beneath his umbrella. “One day, your heart is going to get you into trouble.”
Dr. Heart turned toward him with a playful smile. “And one day, your mind is going to miss all the fun.”
Then he moved the umbrella slightly toward her. “You can come under here. At least you won't get sick tomorrow.” Instead of stepping under the umbrella, Dr. Heart took another step into the rain. “Thank you. But today, my heart chose the rain.”
Dr. Mind smiled. “And I chose my logic.” Once again, they had different opinions. But this time, their disagreement didn't push them apart.
If anything, being able to walk under the same rain while seeing it from two completely different perspectives had become one of the most amusing things about them.

For Dr. Mind, rain was a weather event that could be anticipated and prepared for. For Dr. Heart, it was a small moment of happiness that shouldn't be missed. One carried an umbrella. The other carried the joy of being in the rain.
And I think Dr. Heart's final remark perfectly describes the difference between them: “You prepare before the rain starts. I become happy when it starts raining.” ❤️
