Life Through Tosbi's Eyes
Hello.
Do you remember me?
Let me remind you.
My name is Tosbi.
I am a land tortoise.
People usually notice one thing about me before anything else.
They smile and say, "You are so slow."
They are right.
I have never been in a hurry.
To be honest, I never understood why everyone else is.
Every morning I wake up when the sun gently warms my shell. I stretch my legs, take a deep breath, and begin another ordinary day. I do not rush because the flowers will still be there. The trees will still be waiting. The sky is never in a hurry, so why should I be?
I enjoy small things that many people seem to miss.
A butterfly resting on a flower.
The smell of the soil after the rain.
A ladybug slowly climbing a leaf.
The sound of birds before the world becomes noisy.
None of these moments ask me to hurry.
Sometimes I watch people walking through the park. Most of them are looking at their phones instead of the path beneath their feet. They pass beautiful trees without seeing them. They walk by singing birds without hearing them. They sit beside flowers without noticing their colors.
I often wonder what they are chasing.
Life is not running away.
It has been waiting quietly all along.
I have lived long enough to learn something simple.
You do not always have to move faster to move forward.
Some days the best decision is to slow down.
To breathe.
To listen.
To notice.
To be fully present where you already are.
I have never measured my life by how many places I visited or how quickly I reached them.
I remember peaceful mornings.
Warm sunshine on my shell.
The shade of an old tree during a hot afternoon.
The first rain of spring.
These are the moments that stayed with me.
They may seem ordinary, but they have made my life extraordinary.
People often search for happiness in distant places.
I have found it only a few steps from where I stand.
Perhaps happiness is not hiding from us.
Perhaps we simply walk past it too quickly.
I am not saying you should live exactly like me.
Your journey is different from mine.
But maybe today you can slow down for just a little while.
Take a walk without looking at your phone.
Sit beneath a tree.
Watch the clouds drift across the sky.
Listen to the wind.
Smile at someone without expecting anything in return.
You may discover that peace has been beside you all along.
My name is Tosbi.
I am a land tortoise.
I have spent my whole life walking slowly.
And if there is one thing I have learned, it is this.
Life becomes richer when you stop trying to outrun it and simply choose to walk beside it.
ArticleCorner believes that slowing down refreshes your mind, calms your heart, and restores your spirit.
